while it isn't exactly standard 'prepper fare', Anthony Swofford's Jarhead is an excellent read. i insisted folks in my family read it so that they could better understand some of my thought patterns. anyone who has ever served in a USMC Infantry Rifle Company will find this book to be a very accurate portrayal of life in the creamed corn.

unlike the movie, the book spends more time with non-combat floats. it also goes into much more detail about what Swoff's platoon encountered once they reached Kuwait and the boobytrapped bunkers and such that they dealt with.

Yes it is at 600+ pages.
The stuff he writes about and the people he meet and talked with are fascinating. He most certainly did live an interesting life.
Sad that he is not with us anymore.

It's true that we've been taken over by a Kleptocracy/Corporatocracy, but
it's just a Bureaucratic/Board of Directors smoke screen hiding the off
shore Transnational Central Banks, who are in turn smoke screening
the Old Money Uber Rich Aristocratic Rolling Families behind them!

I feel the sooner we all get a grip on how the world is REALY run, the
sooner we all can drop the Slave Mind Programming Conditionings
where we keep getting suckered into the false belief that we can't
survive without others having power over us because our self
proclaimed slave masters call themselves "Government"!

I like Amazon Kindle. The price is very reasonable per book. I was reading a series, by A. American, paying about $15 dollars a paperback book. Then a firend suggested Amazon Kindle and thats a third of the price. Some books are free, but on those, you sometimes get what you pay for.

Looked through this whole list and didn't see "Atlas shrugged" by Ayn Rand. Its slow at first but the correlation between the book and what is happening with todays government is quite interesting. Kind of hard to believe it was written in the 50's.

Potentially, a government is the most dangerous threat to man's rights: it holds a legal monopoly on the use of physical force against legally disarmed victims.

Seen this guys names come up a view times so I decided to start with these books .. Patriots has me hooked !!! I'm at 40/571 pages in about 30 minutes of reading. I don't think it's supposed to be that many pages but maybe because the way my phone is set up? I don't know, but I would definitely recommend these books.

Way way better is THE GOING HOME series by Angry American, much more realistic, not preachy and is based on an average guy who does not have everything under the sun out in the shed.

Pastor Mike is like the kookey uncle at all the family functions, he is full of experience, knowledge and doesn't speak up often. But when he does you better listen, because its gonna be good.

The 299 Days series was a good and easy read.

One Second After was my first, and now I can't get enough. I believe a second book is coming out called One Year After that I'll have to give a go.

Rules for Radicals by Alinsky is pretty much the playbook being used against us.

The Foxfire series was very informative but hard to read at some points. Some of the articles spell the words as close to how they actually sounded as possible as with the prepping of a goat (I think) head in one of the first couple of articles in book 1.

Someone should put out a list of books by topic. Medical, Tactics, Skills, etc. Maybe it's out there and I just haven't found it yet.

I am also trying to put together a library so I very much appreciate the topic creation and inputs.

Reading this now and it is full of very good info. To go full in on his suggestions will take a lot of sacrifice and a sizeable investment. He has another book that is next on my list (way too much free time on deployments) called Tools for Survival What You Need to Survive When You're On Your Own. I'll pass a report after I've read it.

I have that book on one of my shelves, it's one of the most vile hate filled books I've ever read in my life. The only reason that I bought it, read it and kept it since I was 18 years old was to use it as a teaching tool for those that thought that "WHITE POWER" was cool and did not know what it really entailed as a belief system.
I read it, I could only stomach about 1-2 pages a day, but I read it and finished it, and that was before I found out that I was Jewish and before I married a Apache/Navajo/Mexican crypto-Jewess. So we are both marked for death according to the author.

It is not one that I would recommend at all, but hey, to each their own.

L'CHIEM.... TO LIFE !
