Movies to see are

God Bless America
84 Charlie Mo-pic
Tomorrow when the War began
Hamburger Hill
Night of the comet
Bad Boys with Sean Penn
The Park is Mine
Free Way
Finial Count Down

I think you might be the only other person that has seen 84C MoPic. Thought it was up there with Hamburger Hill.

I can't believe no one said V for Vendetta. That is more applicable than any other movie made that I can think of.

Noone mentioned The Hunted yet? It definitely has some interesting tactics in it to say the very least...

If they want my guns, they can have them... One bullet at a time.

Don't really need to watch Idiocracy, we get the Live version on a daily basis.

This is my favorite COMBAT TV episode because of the
constant twist and turns in tactics and strategies
through out the whole episode!

Whew! I think I got them all but that's a lot of movies....
I think I've seen two of the movies on that list.
In the interest of time, would anyone who has seen them want to rate them as to;
- relevancy to our current issues?
- tactical training.
- prepper information.
- survival information.
- other...?
- more other.....?
- still more other.....?

Toombstone,

" relevancy to our current issues?

- survival information.
- other...?"

They are movies, i.e., Hollywood's version of tactics, training, etc.

If you want relevant info on skills, training, etc., start with Magpul Dynamics videos to get your weapons manipulation skills down then move into real world small unit tactics at a competent school to learn fire and maneuver skills.

If you have an AR-15(if you don't, get one, NOW), start with The Art of the Tactical Carbine Vol. I, II.
If you only have a shotgun(get an AR-15, NOW), start with the Art of the Dynamic Shotgun.
If you only have a pistol(get an AR-15, NOW), start with the Art of the Dynamic Handgun.

If you only have a revolver, .22, small bore shotgun or other rifle action, lever, breech loader, etc. -
get an AR-15, NOW! and save the pop guns for rabbits.

Buy a boatload of ammo and practice. If you can afford it buy a Laserlyte indoor practice system, (about $225 on Amazon) it will save on ammo for weapons manipulation drills.

My earliest movie that sparked a since of survival was Jeremiah Johnson. Watched it a couple of years ago on DVD ($5 Walmart) and it still holds up.

Still an all time Fav SHTF movie is the original Red Dawn.

Plus, when you get your AR15 go to an Appleseed shoot or two. Good group of folks with Marksmenship and History in common.

Chesty,

These links are the Appleseed Project schedules for GA. and FL. for 2015.

Having fun and training are two different kinds of shooting. Firing at a human target will not be fun and requires lots of training or you are likely to get yourself killed.

Thanks for the info and probably will learn a lot. However, ive been to war and know about these such things. I was fortunate enough to expend all remaining( if u know what I mean) I was with task force ripper, 1st Mar Div, 3/11. After the Corps I started bench shooting with bull barrel308 and the old trusty 50 cal. I might get my self killed this time, but they better have there boots laced tight and come CORRECT!!! No fuckin around here. Will check out the appleseed info , thanks.

What's great about the Appleseed event is that it forces you
to be a true ΒΌ mile rifleman and doesn't let the "Good enough"
mind games one typically does by themselves fly at all!

I've already been shooting competitively for over a decade
before I went to an Appleseed event to get my RIFLEMAN'S
PATCH because I know I was being lazy with the "It's Good
Enough" mind games myself and knew I needed a kick in
the but you force myself to get those last few percentage
of proficiency, and it worked!

I recommend it to the experienced expert and the
neophyte a like!

Watched Dinesh D'Souza's "America: Imagine a World without Her" last night. Fucking outstanding! Buying the book today at retail (something I rarely do) that it was based on in a few minutes from Amazon.

Roger that Chesty, Bravo 6 out.

One never knows the background of folks on forums like this. I have a dealer booth at around 20 - 30 gun shows a year, it is nothing like it used to be where most attendees had firearms experience, military or otherwise. Today, there are people getting into shooting and survival who have never held a gun or pitched a tent so it is a common occurrence to talk to those who have no idea about any of this. If you have been downrange then you already know this stuff.

To ENblock's point though, Appleseed will make you realize the "minute of bad guy" mindset you may have gotten into and think more in terms of precision rifle.

Some of the old WWII movies:

Tora Tora Tora!

Midway

These were two that come to mind. There were several others. I just like the last statement in the movie Tora Tora Tora. The Admiral of the Japan fleet says all he feels they did by Pearl Harbor was;" Awaken a sleeping giant!"

One that everyone should watch is The True Faith of our Founding Fathers. Its a very interesting documentary about Thomas Paine and his atheist views as well as his role in the American Revolution.
