The structure of a particular can differ greatly – it depends on the recipient, form, occasion. Of course, it does matter since the reaction of the recipient can be different than you expect.
How to write a letter – rules
Each letter is different, even if they are just slightly less personalized or concern the same thing. However, there is a bunch of some pieces of good advice you can follow, if you want your letters to pass the test. We decided to collect them for you.
There is one, unwritten, the golden rule of how the letter should be written and constructed. What is the rule? Write and send a letter in a form that you would like to get it! Choose the right pen, select a nice and clean piece of paper and take care of your handwriting, so the recipient does not have to think twice what you meant.
How to write a letter – good practices
Some practices depend on the destination and goal of your letter. Make it straight to the point if it needs to inform of something unpleasant. Fill it with some emotions and heartwarming kind words if you feel like it (for example, in the case of personal letters). Always adjust your tone of voice to the goal and your recipient. If you know them well, do not be afraid of showing it. However, if it is more official, rather keep it this way.
Remember about the structure of your letters. It should have an intro with some reference per the goal of you writing it. Then, in the main body of the letter, you can write a bit more about the real goal. Describe it greatly to give the best possible overview to the reader. The last part of your letter should consist of some actions you expect your recipient to make in an answer to your letter.
It should go without saying – but always double-check addresses on the envelope, the letter itself or the postcard if you decide to choose it instead of writing the letter. Sometimes you think about too many things while addressing your letter, and you can mistakenly address it to yourself, finding it in your mailbox a few days later. Doublechecking has never killed anybody and it can take only a few seconds, but save you a lot of time afterwards.
Good luck with your amazing letters!
